LOOKING AHEAD....OCTOBER 12 2011...........................
The year is winding down, but I am still looking ahead.
First, the lime truck arrived yesterday, ready to spread lime on our fields where the corn had been this summer. As soon as the truck had finished Tim was here, chisel-plowing the ground, getting it ready for spring planting. Looking ahead.
Second, getting pictures ready for the two week fairgrounds festival the end of October. Looking ahead.
Third, will have to be packing for the bus trip, also in October, to Sleepy Hollow New York and the legend of the Headless Horseman. Looking ahead.
Fourth, the final festival of the year in Morgantown WV the second weekend of November. Looking ahead.
Now to switch gears. I am attaching a picture of one of my vendor friends, Nancy Habel. She is of German descent, loves the ethnic dress, and usually at the festivals she manages to wear one of her outfits, which she mostly makes herself. But that is not what she sells. She is a high end jeweler, her jewelry is expensive, but you get more way than you pay for in quality and beauty.
This picture was taken at Oglebay this past weekend in front of the big tent we were in, before we had taken the sides down. She and her companion Bill have been great friends for quite a while.
Then my other friend and traveling companion, Vicki, is also a jeweler, but her work is the complete opposite of Nancy's, beautiful costume jewelry the every-day sort us normal people can afford. She scouts out flea markets and auctions, buys discarded jewelry, takes it home, dis-assembles it into individual pieces, them creates her own designs. I am attaching a picture here of some of her work.
I have the picture of Nancy, but not of her work, and a picture of Vicki's work, but not of her. I seem to do everything backwards, but I guess that goes with the territory.
Have to close now. It is raining again. Bible Study in half an hour, don't want to be late.
Enjoy your day, and remember, look ahead. Yesterday is gone. You can't change anything. So enjoy what you have and God Bless.
