THE DAY THE WORLD STANDS STILL.....SEPTEMBER 04 2011........

Actually that is wrong.  It is the WEEK the world stands still - the West Alexander (World's) fair starts tomorrow, Labor Day, and last until midnight Saturday night.

Everyone in the West Alexander area knows that under no circumstances are there any meetings, any parties, any get-to-gathers, as everyone, and I do mean everyone, goes to the big fair.  This fair is a homecoming fair, folks that have moved away, some many many years ago, come back for the fair, renew old friendships, learn who is doing what, where so and so is, you know the drill.

And so that is the reason we are having our Labor Day picnic today.  Tomorrow there would be no one to come.

I am late with this blog, as I went to early church, and have been working on food for this afternoon.  Right now I am taking a quick break, will get started again in a few minutes.  At last count we are expecting 35 friends, family, and neighbors.  It should be quite a day.

Of course, it is supposed to rain.  Our parties go on rain or shine, and no one seems to mind.  We just improvise as we go along, and have a great time, regardless of what the weather is doing.

So my break is over, up and at 'em.  Have a fun, safe holiday weekend and God Bless.
